Melancholia

I feel the extreme urge to be creative. To use my hands and to make something memorable. I used to spend hours with an enormous box full of beads crafting necklaces and bracelets, earrings and transforming abstract things into tangible objects that were vibrant and alive.

In less than a week I will be departing for Colorado to have an adventure with my family- grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles, and my amazing sister who will be flying in from college in California. It is high time I be around people who can understand my wanderlust, outbursts of opinion, and odd sense of humor.

Did I mention the wanderlust? Wanderer Above the Sea, by Caspar David Friedrich, is a German Romantic painting that I have fallen deeply in love with. To me, it is everything beautiful and whimsical. Right now it perfectly fits how I feel- confused, unsure, excited, and mesmerized.
